The Chez Montier story begins at the intersection of food and design where the synergy between Chef Juan Montier’s talents and passion in architecture, interior design and cuisine combined to create the vision that became Chez Montier-a full service premium catering and event décor company.
Chef Juan Montier founded the company in 2004. In 2016, his wife Judith Service Montier, a successful business executive with a background in art and entertainment marketing joined Chez Montier as Chief Operating Officer. Judith always dreamed of creating a family business that would combine her talents with Chef Juan’s, taking Chez Montier to new heights. Adding to this dynamic duo is their son, Austin, who has been cooking with his father since he was three years old, making Chez Montier truly a family affair.
Today Chef Juan and Judith delight in working together; their complementary styles and talents ensure every Chez Montier party, wedding, and corporate event is flawless and memorable.

Juan H. Montier III - EXECUTIVE CHEF
Chef Juan Montier, Co-owner and Executive Chef of the catering and company Chez Montier, Inc., looks at cuisine through the lens of an artist with presentation being as important as flavor. That’s because Chef Juan is a visual artist! He was trained as an architect and interior designer and he brings to his work a unique holistic approach to food presentation. Chef Juan says that he designs the gift of food in every single dish.
Other chefs may write out their menu ideas. However, not only does Chef Juan write out his ideas, he also sketches his dishes. The sketches of Chef Juan’s eclectic dishes bring an engaging and designed vision to clients that Chef Juan then executes and brings to life.
Chef Juan is no stranger to food TV. He’s demonstrated his cooking acumen on such shows as ABC’s “The View,” WXIA’s “Atlanta & CO,” “Atlanta Plugged In” on CBS 46, and “Real Moms, Real Stories, Real Savvy” for PBS.
Juan’s easy confidence, knowledge, and infectious personality have furthered the demand for him on the educational cooking circuit. His “Healthy Living” seminars are popular with clients such as Delta Air Lines, The Boy Scouts of America, Publix Super Markets, Glory Foods and Whole Foods. In addition, Chez Montier’s seasonal pop up dinners are an anticipated Atlanta sell out treat.
Chez Montier’s client list includes high profile superstars like Diana Ross, Cedric The Entetainer, Ce Ce Winans, Steve Harvey and Usher; as well as others who enjoy and appreciate a sophisticated dining experience. Corporate and event clients range from luxury brands De Beers and Bloomingdales, to companies like Ford and Calvin Klein, Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory University, BrightHouse, Seyfarth Shaw and others.
Chef Juan also believes in giving back to the community. He has participated as a featured chef in the Atlanta Family Food Fest and as a mentor for the 100 Black Men of Atlanta and C.H.O.I.C.E.S., the Center for Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully.
Of course, his favorite people to cook for are still his family, his wife and business partner Judith Service Montier and sons Austin and Juan IV “Monty”.
Judith Service Montier - COO
Judith Service Montier, is co-owner and Chief Operating Officer of Chez Montier, Inc. While Judith’s husband, Chef Juan Montier’s culinary and design talents inspire each and every Chez Montier party and event, Judith is the graceful force of nature that oversees every detail of planning and execution.
Chez Montier’s clients appreciate Judith’s “don’t worry I’ve got it” business approach honed during her 20+ years as a marketing and communications executive in the Arts & Cultural and non-profit sectors, for The National Black Arts Festival, United Way of Greater Atlanta, and The National Center for Civil and Human Rights which she helped open and launch.
Judith’s business career includes working with superstar Diana Ross who became an early client of Chez Montier. Judith left NYC in 1995 to join the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. She met Chef Juan on a blind date. Judith, a self-confessed foodie who grew up in a large family of amazing cooks, was impressed by Juan’s culinary acumen. It didn't take long for him to capture her heart with his infectious personality, joie de vivre, and his extraordinary home-cooked meals that consistently surpassed gourmet restaurant meals.
They married in 1998 and in 2016 Judith joined Chez Montier to devote herself full time to taking Chez Montier to new heights. This synergy between the talents of Chef Juan and Judith Montier ensures that each Chez Montier party and event is a joyous celebration of food and design for clients and their guests.
Judith is a graduate of Dartmouth College. Another one of Judith’s passions is giving back. She has served on several nonprofit boards including: the Atlanta Press Club, C.H.O.I.C.E.S. (Center for Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully), and the Rialto Center for the Arts. She is an alumna of Leadership Atlanta, class of 2013.
